My father, along with my uncles, aunts and grandparents, can’t understand why I don’t just love working 60 hour weeks in the restaurants… and this may be a bit radical, but I would just love to get them to understand the concept of… life beyond Leona’s!
I’ve done a couple colleges and culinary school while waiting tables, delivering food and learning humility as the corporate office gofer. I know my father won’t be happy until I’m in over my head in the business – he’s relentless (just ask my Aunt Jacquie). He says I need a little “fire in the belly,” which sounds like an ulcer to me! Leona’s is my future, I do honestly enjoy this business and I count my blessings for its success and realize how much my family loves the biz, but what’s the rush! In closing, I only have one more thing to say…
